About the Event

Imbolc means, "in the belly" and is a Celtic celebration honoring the Goddess Brigid, goddess of birth and renwal, inspiration and creativity, healing, smith craft and poetry. Later, Brigid was given a Sainthood as Christianity took over and is celebrated on February 2nd during Candlemas or St Brigid's Day.

Imbolc marks the ending of winter and start og the growing season. Of course here in Maine, signs of spring are still a ways off, but under the snow and dirt, life is stirring.

Join us at Dot's Photography Studio as we gather to celebrate this Sabbat. This gathering is pot luck style if you wish to bring something to share.  Miss Ostara Jane will be leading in a Calling of the Corners and we will have a ritual and craft to do together. If you wish to do a reading, lead a ritual or share a tradtion relevant to the season, we highly encourage you to do so!

If you wish to bring something to be charged and blessed upon the altar, please feel free!

Colors, symbols and foods to consider while celebrating: White, pale greens, yellows, pinks and blues. Brigid's Cross, seeds, horseshoes, seasonal flowers, baby animals, especially lambs and deer. Milk, bread, cheeses and other dairy, seeds, garlic and cinnamon.
